Organization Culture: A Canvas for the Compassionate Artist
On-Line Training Workshop with Compassion Advocate and Performance Competencies Expert
Brayton Bowen, AM, SHRM-SCP

How constructive is your organization’s culture? How inclusive is it? To what degree do politics and control issues adversely impact performance? How do customers perceive your organization, and how are they impacted by the behaviors of your employees?

This Workshop is focused on the attributes of a carefully designed organization culture. You will begin by completing a culture profile to determine how constructive or counter-productive your organization’s culture is. You will identify the different attributes that affect employee engagement, new employee attraction, retention, and performance. As a result, you will be able to assess areas of opportunity. You will learn how to design, re-design, calibrate, re-calibrate, and determine ways that continuously improve your organization’s culture and its resulting influences. See how styles of compassion can be engaged to improve desired strategies and drive the change you need through the lens of culture.

When two organizations transition into a single culture the incongruities and differences between the two can be problematic. Similarly, the differences between two subgroups within an organization can adversely impact the performance of the organization as a whole. To facilitate alignment between the entities, you will learn how to identify shared values and behaviors and guide the respective leaders/supervisors by using carefully designed instrumentation and processes of compassion to a shared ideal

Enlightened Self-Interest: The Compassion of Recognizing the Power Within (R&R)
On-Line Training Workshop with Compassion Advocate and Performance Competencies Expert

Recognizing and rewarding employees oftentimes is an exercise of “carrots and sticks” for any number of organizations. The reality is that these so-called reward systems do not do what they are intended to do, namely incent workers to perform to desired levels of performance. This is because they lack the fundamental understanding that motivation is an “inside job.”

This workshop provides a rigorous analysis of why these systems do not “motivate.” By contrast, a scrupulous review of the “5R’s” for recognizing and rewarding employees will provide a treasure trove of information, as we explore the compassionate aspects of:

• Responsibility
• Respect
• Relationships
• Recognition
• Reward

Indeed, the 5R’s provide a model of Enlightened Self-Interest that benefits the employee, the organization for which they work, and the customers whom they serve.

Values, Ethics, and Virtue: The Compassion of Aspiring to a Higher Calling
On-Line Training Workshop with Compassion Advocate and Performance Competencies Expert
Brayton Bowen, AM, SHRM-SCP

What are the Values of your organization? Do your Personal values align? Is there room for differing opinions, traditions, and beliefs? For example, one organization may espouse certain norms with respect to social behavior; another may embrace a belief system that may be opposed to your individual behaviors and practices. In a diverse and differing world, there is bound to be a system of values and beliefs at one level that may be diametrically opposed to the values and beliefs at another.

In this workshop, you will learn the means by which decisions are made. We will focus on five philosophies: teleology; deontology, relativism, justice, and virtue, and we will determine how they effect the outcomes of the reasoning process. You will:

• Identify strategies to develop and improve your thinking.
• Formulate processes for addressing and aligning differing values.
• Recognize the importance of building a foundation for critical and creative thinking.
• Determine the basis of judgment when addressing moral questions and dilemmas.
• Appreciate how values drive organizational behaviors and critical outcomes.
• Learn how individual values and customers can be optimized in today’s environment.
• Assess how effective your organization is in accommodating personal values that may differ from the values of the organization.
• Learn how to create constructive outcomes from different perspectives and varied approaches to decision making.
• Appreciate the differences between rational thinking, critical thinking, and creative thinking.
• Learn why some organizations are more successful than others when it comes to decision-making.

Leadership: Turning the Organizational Pyramid Upside Down
On-Line Training Workshop with Compassion Advocate and Performance Competencies Expert
Brayton Bowen, AM, SHRM-SCP

Learn how effective leaders inspire commitment, garner respect, and add value to what they do. By identifying targets for behavioral change, it is possible to increase leadership effectiveness, improve interpersonal relations, develop hidden potential, and identify development gaps which, when closed, can dramatically alter an individual’s emotional and behavioral profile over time.

In this workshop you will determine your personal effectiveness in leading and inspiring others by completing a Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI). We will identify the specific behaviors and styles that will make you an outstanding leader. Such styles are related to many important outcomes such as: job performance, problem-solving effectiveness, quality of interpersonal relations, salary, individual health and well-being, and one’s impact on organizational culture.

To provide an even deeper understanding of your behavioral styles and opportunities for change you will invite feedback from others with the ILF system (Item-Level Feedback). These two systems together will provide critical information for your becoming an Outstanding Leader. As a result, you will be able to turn the organizational pyramid upside down by empowering others to exceptional performance while you drive meaningful change with a bottom-up-top-down strategy.

Social Responsibility: The Competency of Caring for the World Outside
On-Line Training Workshop with Compassion Advocate and Performance Competencies Expert
Brayton Bowen, AM, SHRM-SCP

What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)? Why is it important? What is the value of “service above self”? Is your organization too busy to think outside of the box? Is it the case that it doesn’t want to expend the effort of time and money on what it might consider frivolous activity?

In this workshop you will learn how many organizations are benefiting from being Socially Responsible. You will come to appreciate how such efforts appeal to and attract certain segments of the workforce…and the marketplace. We will provide examples of how some organizations are benefiting by improving employee engagement and market reputation. You will see how they “stand out” as exemplary citizens, compassionate organizations, making a difference in the world.

Explore the metrics to lowering turnover, improving employee engagement, and increasing market reputation and awareness with the strategy of CSR. Once you identify the areas that are potential gold mines for your organization, we will work with you to formulate a CSR initiative, mapping out a detailed plan with a step-by-step time and action calendar toward  achieving your corporate objectives.
